NEW YORK, NY - AUGUST 24: Recovering addict Neal McCarthy plays with a rescued dog at Pitbulls and Addicts, a Staten Island dog rescue which aims to help both recovering drug addicts and stray animals on August 24, 2017 in New York City. Michael Favor started the dog rescue after 12 years of using drugs and losing countless friends to addiction. Pitbulls and Addicts looks to rescue abandoned and abused dogs, rehabilitate them, and find them caring homes. Numerous volunteers at the facility are also recovering addicts who walk and feed the dogs.
