2020 Space Coast Kennel Club results: Who won at the Orlando Cluster?

The 2020 Space Coast Kennel Club results are in. As per custom, the event was held as a lead-in event for the AKC National Championship presented by Royal Canin, which will air at 2 p.m. ET on ABC on Sunday, January 17, 2021.

The 2020 Space Coast Kennel Club dog show was held with about 3,300 entrants taking part on Tuesday, December 7 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, along with the Brevard Kennel Club, Central Florida Kennel Club and Orlando Dog Training Club shows, and was streamed live on AKC.tv.

It was hosted by the Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay, which is located in the Brevard County area, in the Orlando suburbs.

Herding Group

525 Herding Group dogs were entered, with a female Pembroke Welsh Corgi with the registered name of GCH Coventry A Million Reasons taking the top honors.

Also earning ribbons were Conrad the Shetland Sheepdog (registered as GCHP Syringa-Akadia The Corsair) in second, an Old English Sheepdog in third and a Bearded Collie in fourth.

Hound Group

The 448-dog Hound Group was won by Bourbon the Whippet (registered name GCHG Pinnacle Kentucky Bourbon), continuing her stellar career.

Taking the second-place red ribbon in the group was 2020 NDS Best in Show winner Claire the Scottish Deerhound (registered name CH Foxcliffe Claire Randall Frasier), the third-place white ribbon went to an English Foxhound, and the yellow fourth-place ribbon went to a Saluki.

Non-Sporting Group

In the Non-Sporting Group, 319 dogs took part, with Sushi the Schipperke (officially GCHB Delamer Suzi Sells Sushi On the Boardwalk) taking the victory.

A Boston Terrier was second, a Tibetan Terrier third and a Standard Poodle fourth.

Sporting Group

An English Cocker Spaniel with the official name of GCHS Foxwoods Ivywood All Hallows Eve won the Sporting Group. 555 dogs were entered in the group.

Also placing here were a Golden Retriever in second, a very rare Lagotto Romagnolo in third and a German Shorthaired Pointer in fourth.

Terrier Group

The Terrier Group, which had 464 entrants, was captured by a Miniature Schnauzer with the pleasant-sounding registered name of GCHG Carmel Sky High Wish Upon a Star.

Second was Vinnie the Wire-Haired Fox Terrier (officially GCHB Irvonhill Volgnier), third a Scottish Terrier and fourth a Jack Russell Terrier.

Toy Group

Racking up yet another win to his immensely impressive resume in the Toy Group was Wasabi the Pekingese (registered as GCH Pequest Wasabi). whose biggest victories were last year’s AKC National Championship and the 2019 Beverly Hills Dog Show.

541 dogs were entered here, and also placing were a Chinese Crested Dog in second, a Pomeranian in third and an Italian Greyhound in fourth.

Working Group

The Working Group had 433 entries, with a Newfoundland with the call name of McConaughey (officially known as CH Pouch Coves Alright Alright Alright) taking the group win.

Coming in second was Wilma the Boxer (registered as GCHP2 Cinnibons Bedrock Bombshell), third was a Portuguese Water Dog and fourth was a Doberman.

Best in Show

Wasabi the Pekingese was awarded Best in Show at the 2020 Space Coast Kennel Club of Palm Bay, with Bourbon the Whippet coming in as Reserve Best in Show.
