We think Bark-Andre Furry’s brother Deke is pretty cute.

Bark-Andre Furry’s brother is still a bit of a pain so far, if you ask him.

The new addition to the family was introduced on Bark’s Instagram page earlier in the week, and then a bit later on his Twitter.

His name is Deke-Henri Furry, which seems like a good fit.

“Deke” is a hockey term for a fakeout move similar to a crossover dribble in basketball, which is appropriate since Bark definitely wasn’t expecting a sibling. “Henri” is French for “Henry,” which comes from German and means “ruler of the household,” according to Bruce Lansky’s The Very Best Baby Name Book in the Whole Wide World.

Also, “Henri” is pronounced “ornery,” which Bark would say sounds about right, describing him as “quite a pawful” so far.

The second part of Deke’s name could also be an homage to the great center Henri Richard, who played for the Montreal Canadiens from 1955 to 1975, helping lead them to 11 Stanley Cups and twice leading the National Hockey League in assists.

As his older brother (and teammate) Maurice was called “The Rocket,” Henri Richard was known as “The Pocket Rocket.”

Like Bark, Deke is a Jack Russell Terrier, and hopes to follow in his big brother’s pawsteps as a therapy dog when he gets bigger. As he was born May 5 (making him almost the same age as the San Jose SharksFinn), it will be some time before he’ll be ready for that job.

He can be followed on Instagram using the handle @DekeHenriFurry, and is fitting in well with the rest of the hockey hounds.

Deke has also already demonstrated his excellent nose for finding the most delicious places to get barbecue from.

He spent his first Fourth of July swimming with Bark, Sir Winston Da Doodle and Sir Oliver, which sounds fun.

It’s a near certainty that he’ll become a part of the Vegas Golden Knights hockey dog community, since his cool older brother is a superfan and he’s already got the “We chomp on shark toys” memo (San Jose is probably Vegas’ biggest rival right now).

On a memorable sibling rivalry note, Bark doesn’t follow Deke on Instagram, possibly because Deke states in his bio that he is more handsome (Bark’s girlfriends Goldie the Yorkie and Cali the Yorkipoo probably disagree with Deke’s claim).

Next. Joy Prom 2019 a howling success. dark

We’re happy that Bark-Andre Furry’s brother has been added to the Golden Knights family, and look forward to seeing what adventures Deke might take part in in the future.
