Chris Evans is a known animal lover, who has no problem sharing pictures and videos of his pup, Dodger. But for National Pet Day he shared a throwback of his first pet.

Over the years, Chris Evans has been a romantic comedy lead, an Avenger, the voice of a special about dogs, and of course a loving dog father. And when it comes to honoring his pup on National days dedicated to our animals, the actor has no problem sharing pictures and videos of his furry friend.

On National Pet Day, Evans took his love of dogs one step further by sharing two throwback pictures of his very first pet, a dog named East. The actor used Twitter to share the love that included a picture of himself holding East as a puppy next to a picture of the two of them when the pup is older.

In the post that he shared, Chris Evans said that for National Pet Day he wanted to take a look back at his very first pet. According to the actor, he always knew that when he got his own place for the first time he wanted to get a dog right away. The pup in the picture was that very first dog and they were ultimately together for 12 years.

And while East may no longer be with Evans, that doesn’t mean he has forgotten his first dog. Of course, it is hard to forget any animal that comes into our lives, but a first pet always holds a special place in our hearts.

Although the actor did not share a picture of his current pup, Dodger, for National Pet Day, we all know he adores his dog. In fact, all it takes is a look back to Love Your Pet Day on February 20 when Chris Evans posted a video on Twitter of the first time he hung out with the pup at the shelter before he brought him home. That video even revealed Dodger’s shelter name was Benny, which apparently did not last long once he went home with the actor.
