While we may sneak some of our dessert to our puppers from time to time, they aren’t really supposed to be eating cake and cookies. But how are we supposed to resist when they give us the sad eyes? But now with this carrot cake recipe, we can make them their own dessert that is specifically made with things that are good for them.

It starts off with grating one small carrot into a bowl and then adding an egg, some oat flour, cinnamon, and water and mixing until it’s all combined.

Once it’s mixed together, use coconut oil to grease a microwave-safe mug or you can use a small bowl. As long as it can go in the microwave, you’re good.

From there, add the mixture into the mug or bowl and microwave it for 2-3 minutes (it really depends on your microwave) at medium heat. You want the final result to be firm but not dry or hard.

Allow it to cool and let your pupper enjoy. It’s not going to be anywhere near as sweet as the human version (there’s no sugar here), but they’re sure to love it. I’d be surprised if it’s not gone within two minutes.

You can also add a topping to their carrot cake. Peanut butter, a bit of coconut, some of their favorite dog food, or some dairy-free yogurt would all work great here. Sorry, no cream cheese frosting!
