Jinx and Barry’s team up for canine-focused workout experience
Jinx and Barry’s have teamed up to help us and our pups get exercise.
Jinx and Barry’s have teamed up to help get pet owners exercising more with a collaborative dog-friendly workout experience.
Since physical fitness is a vital part of staying in a good place mentally, it’s no surprise that dogs have appeared exercise videos this year, like what happened to Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky, or that celebrity doggos like Doug the Pug have created their own workout plans.
So Jinx and Barry’s working together makes for a great collaboration as a way for potential customers to learn about each brand while making gains towards better health for themselves and their pets.
Barry’s is a gym franchise that specializes in cardio-based workout sessions that focus on the core, since that is where the most power is generated from while doing athletic movements (or really any movements at all, honestly). They were founded in the Los Angeles area in 1998, and have several studios in major cities scattered around the United States
Jinx, of course, is a direct-to-consumer maker of high-quality dog food and dog treats that debuted at the start of this year.
During a special media-only workout session that was conducted by Barry’s NYC chief curriculum leader Alycia, and her rescue dog Pierre, a white terrier of some kind she raised from birth as a foster fail, helped out as the 45-minute routine walked participants through a variety of bodyweight (and occasional cat, dog or human baby weights depending on the individual) exercises that included side and front planks, situps, several types each of crunches, leg raises, pushups and lunges.
Among the dogs taking part were a Basset Hound, a Frenchie and a Pug.
Both the media-only and open-to-the-public sessions were conducted via Zoom, which, while it doesn’t provide the same strength-in-numbers camaraderie as a gym setting, still worked fairly well.
Who knows? Maybe this Jinx and Barry’s team-up, if it inspired you to get more active, could inspire people to get into dog sports like agility or disc dog.
