Netflix is one of the biggest streaming platforms out there, and it makes sense. With plenty of original content, reboots, and reality shows, there is no shortage of things to watch. However, Tudum was a different story.
For those who don't know, Tudum is basically Netflix giving us the inside scoop on what they've got coming down the line. However, the one show that was absent from this year's Tudum was the upcoming Scooby-Doo series.
This live-action series has been talked about for months and is something many Scooby-Doo fans are looking forward to. While Netflix has shared some info via its website, we're basically grasping for straws, or should we say, Scooby Snacks? The concept seems fresh and fun without being too different from what we all know and love.
Even so, the lack of Scooby-Doo updates feels weird especially with how much Netflix revealed about its other series. Hopefully, this is just a slight bump in the road and we'll get more updates as there are a lot of excited fans who have been craving a live-action Scooby-Doo series for years.
Will Netflix give us an update on Scooby-Doo in 2025?
For those who aren't aware, this is an origin story for the Mystery Incorporated crew, including Scooby-Doo. It follows our favorite mystery-solving teens like we've never seen them before. If you're a fan of the meddling kids or are looking forward to Netflix's next hit, then this one needs to be on your list.
The biggest question is when we'll be getting some Scooby-Doo updates. Netflix tends to post things either in a flurry or sporadic when it comes to series. Hopefully, we get a lot of Scooby-Doo updates but until we do, it's best to hope for something small. By the end of 2025, I hope that we get some casting updates. Additionally, it would be awesome to find out if the pilot has been filmed yet or not.
As exciting as it would be to get a trailer, I don't know if Netflix will have something together to end 2025. The good news is that we know the series is only running for 8 episodes at this point. It might take some time for Netflix to decide if they want to give us more episodes, but I think 8 episodes is an excellent test run.
We can only hope that Netflix just has everything under wraps and is waiting to spill the beans when Scooby-Doo is ready to go. Until then, it's just a waiting game. Thankfully, you can watch Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, which is exactly the appetizer you need before the live-action show.
