Classic cartoons continue to be timeless and Boomerang was home for the best of them. Back in the day, you could catch episodes of Scooby-Doo, Huckleberry Hound and Pink Panther all in one day.

Sadly, those days have come and gone. The good thing is that even if you didn't have cable, Boomerang was available as a subscription for a small fee. Even with all the other subscriptions out there, it seemed Boomerang was still going great.

Unfortunately, Warner Bros decided to pull the plug on Boomerang and fold it into Max. As shared via Boomerang's website: "Exciting news…Boomerang is moving to Max on 9/30/2024! As a result, new Boomerang subscriptions are no longer available." While it's unclear if this is exciting new just yet, it does feel like a weird move to make especially with the launch of MeTV Toons.

The biggest question is what is going to happen to some of our favorite classic cartoons and will we be able to stream all of our favorites on Max?

Could our favorite cartoon dogs soon be headed to Max?

For those who grew up watching Boomerang, this feels like a gut punch but given the poor decisions being made at Warner Bros, this shouldn't be a surprise. Folding Boomerang into Max only causes people to pay more for the content they're craving. Sounds like a typical streaming model in 2024 but there is a much larger question to ponder here.

If Boomerang is moving to Max at the end of September, then will all our favorite shows be making the jump as well? Since we love dogs around here, there are certain shows we're hoping to see on Max including Courage the Cowardly Dog, Huckleberry Hound, Scooby-Doo and Top Cat among some of the other great shows. Honestly, it's sad to see the network getting the axe as it's been around for so long.

The other thing to wonder is if all the movies are headed to Max as well. We have all of the Scooby-Doo direct-to-video films to think about along with The Good, The Bad and Huckleberry Hound, Top Cat and the Beverly Hills Cats and multiple different specials from other cartoons. As you can see, Boomerang was home to loads of amazing classic shows and movies which will hopefully find a new home in Max's library.

Either way, it's sad to see Boomerang becoming part of Max. The channel had such great bumpers, shows and great content for viewers to enjoy. We can only hope that this move to Max proves to be a more fruitful and allows more eyes to get on the content.
