Many would never use the word "underrated" to describe anything Disney. One truly underrated Disney movie is 1995's A Goofy Movie. While Goofy is a fun character, no one imagined just how touching, insightful, and heartfelt the movie was.
While the film was not considered a commercial success, it ended up becoming a favorite for at-home viewers. This was largely due to people buying the VHS tape and watching it. Since then, it's truly become a favorite for millennial Disney lovers and beyond.
That's why there was no way I wasn't going to show some love to the upcoming documentary Not Just A Goof. This documentary is headed to Disney+ on April 7 and will give us a behind-the-scenes look at the film and its creation, along with their feelings on the film from both the past and the present. Honestly, the name of this documentary already had me sold.
If you've never watched A Goofy Movie, that's sad, and you should do it before deciding to watch Not Just A Goof. However, the film seems like it's going to be the exact thing we've been craving from Disney. Plus, there's just so much love for A Goofy Movie out there right now.
Not Just A Goof is what we've been waiting for.
At this point, there isn't much known about this upcoming documentary. However, we do know that it's going to be streaming on Disney+ and that we'll be getting a look behind the scenes. I don't know about you, but I'm incredibly excited about that. Visually, there are so many big sequences and different moments that I'd love to learn more about.
Most notably, I think it'll be interesting to see how Powerline was created and how it was having Tevin Campbell lay down his vocals. He's such a key part of the movie, so that would be awesome. Plus, as mentioned, A Goofy Movie is turning 30 this year so it'll just be great to go back, and revisit the film and watch Not Just A Goof.
