It's hard to believe A Goofy Movie was released back in 1995.

There are certain animated movies you watch as a kid and enjoy but as an adult, you truly come to appreciate them. That sentiment is exactly how it feels to rewatch A Goofy Movie.

First released in 1995, the film follows Goofy and his son, Max as they're going on a cross-country road trip. For Goofy, it's a way to connect with Max and spend some quality time together. For Max, it feels like torture.

As a kid, you usually sided with Max and wanted to get to do whatever you wanted. Upon revisiting it as an adult, you'll see that Goofy is just trying to connect with his son in the only way he can think of which makes Max's behavior all the more upsetting. If you think I'm getting too deep into it, then you haven't watched A Goofy Movie.

The good news is that A Goofy Movie is currently streaming on Disney+ so you can watch it or rewatch it as many times as you like. While seeing things from a new perspective is nice, there are some undeniably great moments from A Goofy Movie.

A Goofy Movie still holds up after 30 years.

While we've already touched on the basic plotline, this moment of father-son bonding feels so incredibly special. Goofy is trying to hold on to his son yet Max is pushing him away. It's a sentiment that most of us can remember feeling as teenagers. However, the main reason why I love seeing Goofy and Max together is that Goofy tries so hard to be a great dad and he is which is so wholesome.

If you've watched the end of the movie, you'll see just how cool Goofy is, and speaking of the end of the movie, can we talk about the songs?! How is the soundtrack of A Goofy Movie still one of Disney's best all these years later? While most think of "I2I" or "Stand Out," there are so many other gems including "After Today," "On the Open Road," and " Nobody Else But You." "On the Open Road" is the ultimate song if you're planning a road trip in 2025, too.

Ultimately, A Goofy Movie felt like the chance for Goofy to stand on his own and he nailed it. Having his relationship with Max as the focus just works. Visually, the movie is great and the cast is stacked with Bill Farmer voicing Goofy while Jason Marsden voices Max. Then there's the great cameos from Tevin Campbell and Pauly Shore. We also can't forget about Dante Basco's infamous line to Stacy.

Whether you've watched A Goofy Movie once or 100 times, there is no denying its great story and incredible music will have you wishing Powerline was on tour now.
