Spending time at a cat cafe has to be a delight. While it’s been popular for years, some haven’t jumped on the bandwagon.

In particular, Oklahoma is joining the cat cafe club. The state is poised to open its first cat cafe this spring and honestly, it sounds like an amazing time.

Called “don’t stress meowt,” it was first announced in 2021 as shared by an Oklahoma news outlet. While the local news outlet dropped the news, there is also a Facebook page and website with lots of information to share.

Personally, I’d recommend it if you’re either in Oklahoma or plan to be visiting and want to do something that will no doubt be relaxing. Either way, let’s break down all the details we know about this exciting new venture for my fellow kitty lovers.

”don’t stress meowt” is going to be Oklahoma’s first cat cafe

If you’re planning to go to “don’t stress meowt,” you’ll need to plan ahead as the cat cafe’s opening date is May 13th, 2023. Until then, the business’ website has all the details you need to know if you plan on paying the cafe a visit or if you have plans to just go there and hang out.

If you’re looking to visit, you need to make a reservation if you plan on going into the cat lounge but the website isn’t totally set up for that yet. The pricing begins at $15.00 an hour to be in the cat lounge and has a limit of 10 people at a time. If you want to just enjoy the cafe though, you can just go there to enjoy some snacks, drinks, and even, free Wi-Fi.

I’m sure most of my fellow cat lovers will be excited to see some cats but for now, there isn’t any information on which cats will be there. All the website shared is that there will be 15-25 cats which are from local shelters in hopes of being adopted. There is also a waiver to be signed in case any incidents happen while visiting with the cats.

Overall though, I feel like this sounds like an amazing time. I know if I was in the Oklahoma area, I’d be down to check it out. If you are, you can check out “don’t stress meowt’s” menu and merch before you head there. Honestly, it just seems like a lot of fun.
