5 celebrities who have owned rather unusual pets over the years

When it comes to celebrities, there are a lot of ways that they are different from the average person and that includes the type of pets they keep. While there are any number of animals that we think of as the perfect pets—dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and even lizards to name a few—there are actually a wide range of animals that seem to make the list when we look at celebrities.

We all know that Taylor Swift has her cats and Henry Cavill has his beloved dog Kal, but what about the more unusual pets. Do you know of any celebrities who have owned an animal you never would have thought of as being a “pet?”

So which celebrities have had an unusual pet or two over the years? And what pets did they have?

Thanks to research from Printed Pet Memories, a company that prints portraits of your pets or even lets you transform them into a cartoon, we know of 5 celebrities who have had some rather unusual pets over the years. And yes, some of these celebrity and pet combinations definitely surprised us.

• George Clooney – Did you know that Clooney once had a pet pig? Apparently the actor had a pig named Max for 18 years. Max even got to sleep in the actor’s house and everything!
• Paris Hilton – Honestly, the idea of Hilton having an unusual pet is not that surprising, but did you know she once had a kinkajou? And if you have no idea what a kinkajou is, you’re not alone. It seems that this animal is also known as a honey bear and is a mammal found in tropical rainforests. Paris Hilton’s kinkajou was named Baby Luv and we have to love that name.
• Tori Spelling – Spelling is another celebrity who has owned a rather unique pet. In her case, the actress had a chicken she named Coco Chanel. And yes, Coco Chanel went with Tori Spelling places, in particular on shopping trips.
• Nicolas Cage – We were actually not surprised to learn that Nicolas Cage was someone who owned an unusual pet. But do you know what pet or pets he has owned? Well, it turns out that he has been the owner of an octopus and two different king cobras. While we do not know what he named his octopus, we do know that the king cobras were named Sheba and Moby. These were definitely some interesting names for two very interesting pets.
• Reese Witherspoon – We love Reese Witherspoon. And we love the fact that her unusual pets are two miniature donkeys. That’s right, Witherspoon has owned (and still may own) two miniature donkeys named Tonky and Honky.

When it comes to unusual pets, these are definitely some interesting ones. And it does not surprise us that celebrities are the ones owning these interesting pets. We love learning about what celebrities are bringing home with them in terms of the perfect pet for them, even if it’s not a dog or a cat.
