Will Petco be open on New Year’s Day 2022?

The parties are over and we are looking to start the new year by making sure our pup is ready for us to get back into work mode. And that means taking a trip to Petco to stock them up on dog food, dog treats, and basically any of their other must-haves on January 1 (or maybe December 31, depending on what you might need).

But just because we need to make a trip to the pet store that doesn’t necessarily mean we can. After all, New Year’s Day is still technically a holiday. So that means we need to know what Petco’s holiday hours might be.

All that to say that our big question right now is whether or not Petco is actually open on New Year’s Day.

Is Petco open on New Year’s Day?

According to our go to store hours page, The Holiday Schedule, we may actually be in luck! While the page we had to check out was all about 2021, we are taking that to heart because on January 1, 2021, Petco was open for their regular store hours. This means that we expect them to also be open on January 1, 2022.

And not only that, but on New Year’s Eve, Petco will also be operating under their standard store hours.

Basically, this means that if we are trying to end the year or even start off the new year by making a run to pick up things for our furry friends, we definitely can.

Of course, just because they say that the stores will be open for their normal business hours, we still recommend calling ahead, just in case they end up closing early or they find themselves short staffed, which has been an issue across the board in 2021.
