Mark Ruffalo celebrated National Cat Day earlier this week with an Instagram post with a feline friend.

And since we love all cats (and most other pets generally) here at Dog O’Day, as well as being big Ruffalo fans, it had to be mentioned.

National Cat Day was Friday, October 29, and so it would be the perfect time to adopt a kitty from your local animal shelter if you’re able.

Cats don’t typically devote themselves to you, it’s true, but their wisdom and peculiarity can be a good daily lesson in humility, as well as a study in dignity.

Mark Ruffalo celebrated National Cat Day with a feline friend.

According to PopSugar, Ruffalo has or has had at least five cats during his time as a celebrity (and since Instagram was invented), among them Biscotti, Felix, Inky, Hansel, and Magnus. Some of the photos of him with his cats were snapped by his daughter, who is quite the photographer.

While nowadays Mark Ruffalo is probably best known for his portrayal of Dr Bruce Banner/Incredible Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in six movies to date and probably making a guest appearance in the She-Hulk TV show coming to Disney Plus next year (it follows Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters), he’s also been in a little of everything.

Some of his most well-known credits include  the romcom13 Going On 30, with Jennifer Garner, but he’s also appeared in the magician-led thriller Now You See Me, the journalism drama Spotlight with fellow MCU veteran Rachel McAdams and Where the Wild Things Are, based on Maurice Sendak’s classic picture book of the same name.

So he’s really an actor with a little bit of something for everyone, and we bet that he would certainly prove the cat dating study (which said that men with cats in their dating profiles were less attractive than those with dogs) is wrong.
