Winston Biden made a rare appearance on the Oval Pawffice Instagram account to remind us he is still First Cat while celebrating International Cat Day. And we are here for this reminder that while we wait for Major Biden‘s new feline sister, there is still a de facto First Cat in office.

For those unfamiliar with Winston Biden, this is actually the fuzzy friend of Naomi Biden, the president’s granddaughter. Since the Oval Pawffice social media accounts began, it has been clear that until a new feline makes its home at the White House, Winston would step in to take on the First Cat duties.

And for International Cat Day, the First Cat stepped up to meow a message and reminder to us all.

Winston Biden reminds us he is still the First Cat while honoring his fellow felines for International Cat Day

In the post shared to the Oval Pawffice Instagram on August 8, Winston shared a collage of pictures that showed the First Cat as a kitten and as an adult. (Cue the heart eyes from us.)

And in the caption of this post, Winston shared

"Happy International Cat Day to all my friends! I know everyone is waiting to meet the new WH kitty, but for now you’ll have to settle for me, Winston. As the only Biden kitty, I am First Cat de facto. One more meow: please pawdopt cats and especially black kitties, they’re the least wanted because of stoopid superstitions. Black kitties are the best!"

Not only was this is a great reminder of the fact that we currently have a First Cat, but also that we should be adopting kitties as well as dogs. And we should definitely be remembering that black cats deserve love too!

For International Cat Day, we should all remember that kitties need love too. So, we appreciate this timely reminder from Winston.
