Major Biden has already given us an update on how he is doing nearly two months after losing his brother Champ, but now he is sharing details of his day, and how he copes with the loss. And of course, it is all thanks to Champ himself that he is finding good things to focus on.

In a post shared to The Oval Pawffice Instagram account on August 4, Major Biden shared a bit of a pupdate with the world. That pupdate included a fun reminder of the bunny that Champ and Major Biden left in charge of the White House when they were away from home.

The first time we were introduced to the bunny named Poppet was when President Biden and the First Lady were in Europe. The First Dogs shared a post about what they were up to while their parents were away. They then followed up that post with a status pupdate of sorts where they talked about their parents coming home and Poppet holding down the fort at the White House.

Well now it seems that Poppet is helping Major deal with the loss of Champ.

Major Biden reveals that the bunny, Poppet, that he and Champ left in charge of the White House grounds in June is helping with his grief

So how is Poppet helping Major out? According to the Instagram post,

"I still miss my brother Champ every day, but as I woofed before, I made a new friend. Her name is Poppet, she’s a very cute bunny. Actually, Champ introduced us. So now, whenever I feel sad, I go outside and play with Poppet."

Obviously we are still saddened by the loss of one of our First Dogs, and of course the same would hold true for Major. But it is nice to know that he is finding ways to keep going.

Knowing that Major has Poppet to keep him company is something we can all appreciate. And of course, I’m sure Major is still eagerly waiting for the arrival of his feline sister. (We are too!)

For now, it is good to see that there is another furry friend for our First Dog to play with. And hopefully Poppet is okay with the exuberance of a German Shepherd.
