Aly Raisman’s dog Mylo was found safe on Friday, July 9, after a week of worry for the Olympic gymnast.
Mylo disappeared on Saturday, July 3, in Boston’s Seaport District, thanks to a Fourth of July fireworks show.
This news was previously reported by Boston.com.
Raisman shared this news on her social media pages, where she was sharing updates throughout the process, which included a reward being offered.
Two women named Carla and Gayle were involved in Mylo’s rescue, along with Gayle’s dog.
Aly Raisman’s dog Mylo found safe and sound.
“The people who found him could not have been nicer and dog lovers,” Raisman told Boston TV station WBZ, a CBS affiliate. “They’re such good people.”
Mylo was found at a construction site near the UMass-Boston campus, where Gayle’s dog spotted him.
Aly Raisman won gold medals in the team and floor competitions at the 2012 London Games, in addition to a bronze medal on the balance beam, and she was the captain of the US Gymnastics team at the 2016 Rio Games, earning a team gold and a pair of silver medals in the all-around and floor exercise events.
Since the Olympics, Aly Raisman has become an outspoken advocate for women following the extensive US Gymnastics scandals, in addition to becoming at least the fourth gymnast to compete on Dancing with the Stars (following Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin and Laurie Hernandez), finishing fourth in season 16.
(Some of the male gymnasts, most notably Jonathan Horton, have gotten TV time of their own since the Olympics on American Ninja Warrior).
She adopted Mylo, a mixed breed rescue dog of unknown heritage, last summer as a pandemic pup, who has had playdates with Dodger Evans, Captain Pawmerica.
