Ever since Disney+ announced that they were going to be giving us a Turner & Hooch series we have been excited for what was to come. But now we need to know who the series star, Josh Peck, is and where we have seen him before! And yes, we will also remind you of exactly who he is in the show as well.
If you grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s, then you probably know exactly who Josh Peck is. Not only was he a Nickelodeon kid, but he was one half of the series Drake & Josh. And he was also in the two follow up movies, but that is not where his career ended (obviously).
Among some of his more notable projects, especially for those of us who love voice actors, Peck has been the voice of Ice Age‘s Eddie since the 2006 movie, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and he has also been the voice of Casey Jones in the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from 2012 until 2017! Both of which are projects we love as fans of animation.
Beyond his work on TV (and in movies), Josh Peck has also created a Podcast where he interviews people such as TV legends John Stamos and Bob Saget to talk about their work and life. And he is also an influencer in his own right, with a YouTube channel and an impressive following on Instagram and Tik Tok as well.
But who is Josh Peck in Turner & Hooch on Disney+?
And while we are all about figuring our where we have seen Josh Peck before, the real question is all about Turner & Hooch. We already know that he will be playing Scott Turner II (or is it junior?), the leading man of the series. As one half of the title duo, it makes sense that we will likely see him in every episode of the series. Which means we need to know more about his character.
Described as “buttoned-up” and “ambitious,” Scott Turner is clearly following in his father’s footsteps. And if he ends up being anything like his father was in the original movie, it should be interesting to once again see man and dog coming together. (As the original Scott Turner aka Scott Turner Senior, Tom Hanks played the character as a very straight-laced officer with a real lack of passion for his canine companion, but over time the two bonded and formed a working relationship that worked for both of them.)
In the trailer we watched for the film, it was clear that getting Hooch from his father was a real surprise for Josh Peck’s Scott Turner, and as a U.S. Marshall, it was also not exactly appreciated or wanted. Clearly Scott the younger is all about work and a dog is not, or at least was not, part of the plan.
We can’t wait to see how Josh Peck brings this role to life. And while I hate to compare him to Tom Hanks, it will certainly be interesting to see how they pay tribute to the original film and characters.
