We have an important announcement from the First Dogs following their Twitter Kitty Poll. It seems that the people have spoken when it comes to the kitty the First Family should adopt.

Recently, The Oval Pawffice on Twitter ran a poll asking their followers what “fur color” they thought the new first kitty should be. There were four options to choose from on the poll: Tabby Tigress, Black Beauty, Calico Meowcative, and Gray, Orange, or White.

While the First Dogs made it clear that it was hard for them not to “woof our preference,” they also knew that the thing that matter most is that the future COTUS be a rescue. But now we have the results of the kitty poll and in a new post to social media (both on Instagram and Twitter), The Oval Pawffice has shared the results in what they are calling an ” Impawrtant pawnnouncement.”

The First Dogs reveal the results of their recent Twitter kitty poll

It seems that the vast majority of the people who responded to the kitty poll believe that the First Family should adopt a black cat. In fact, according to the poll results 43 percent of respondents voted “Black Beauty” on the poll. Coming in second with 23.9 percent of the vote was Calico Meowcative. And considering nearly 9,000 people took part in the poll, that seems like a very decent response.

Obviously we are here for the results of this Twitter kitty poll, but we are also loving the announcement itself as well. After all, it features our First Dogs taking the podium themselves to share the news. And not only that, but it is clear that they are pretty excited by the results of the poll, especially when they pointed out something we already know – black cats are the least adopted of all the kitties that end up in the shelter.

We are excited to see what happens with the new COTUS when they are introduced and we hope that the First Dogs end up loving their new kitty sister, no matter what color their fur ends up being. But for now, we are all about this pawnnouncement!
