On YouTube, Pixar has been releasing new animated shorts called SparkShorts, and their latest offering, Kitbull, is a magical tear-jerker that we think you’ll fall in love with.

Are you looking to get a bit teary eyed? Well Pixar has us all covered thanks to their newest animated short video on YouTube. Their latest SparkShorts video, Kitbull, is a heart-warming, tear-jerker that will leave you smiling and crying at the same time.

We all know that Pixar has a knack for giving us animated movies and shorts with a lot of heart. And their latest offering is no exception. In fact, Kitbull is a magical video that is just nine minutes, but tells a lasting story of love and friendship.

At the heart of the story are a kitten and a pitbull. It is an unlikely pairing that ends up being sheer perfection.

Clearly the kitten in the video is a stray that is fighting to survive. And we get to see this from the very beginning as the little black cat scurries home with a fish in its mouth. Where is home? Home is a box in a junkyard.

And then one day the kitten sees a pitbull being left in the yard. And while there is clearly distrust from the kitten, this pup looks ready to get to know this tiny ball of fluff. The problem is that whoever owns the dog is not a good person. But together, these two form an unlikely bond that will definitely warm the heart and bring a few tears to the eyes.

While I could tell you exactly what happens in Kitbull, I think the best way to appreciate the story of this friendship is to watch it for yourself. There is something magical about how these two animals connect with each other and the way the story unfolds.

Perhaps what makes these shorts so special is the fact that no words are needed to tell this story. Sure, we get to hear the kitten hiss and meow, and then there is the dog who we hear bark and whimper. But beyond these noises, which are clearly signs of communication, there are not really any actual words. Instead, we get an entire story without anyone needing to speak.

And if you are as captivated by this Pixar short as I am, you’ll likely want to know more about the video and the people behind it as well. Luckily, Pixar has us covered with two videos that were also posted to YouTube. In one video we get to meet the people who helped give life to Kitbull, while the other video is a behind-the-scenes look at creating the animated short.

Although the story may have begun as a video for cats and kittens, what it ultimately evolved into is something that is so much more than a cute cat video (which is good for us here at Dog o’ Day). Between this kitten and the pitbull, there is something special and magical. There is a friendship and bond that grows to a point where you can’t help but fall in love with these two animals.
