Every single day, more and more pups come up for adoption in shelters and rescues across the country. And in Dallas, Texas there is an older pup looking for love.

Meet Aries! Aries in a Pit Bull, Terrier Mix currently located in the SPCA of Texas in Dallas. This beautiful boy is three years and seven months old, and was recently spotlighted on The Oval Pawffice social media as part of the First Dogs efforts to help animals in need.

Following their recent fundraising efforts for the SPCA of Texas, we are not surprised to see the First Dogs continuing their efforts to help the animals in these shelters in Texas find their furever homes. In this case, that means helping Aries in his search for the perfect humans.

Considering Aries is both deaf and an older pup, he really does need as much of a spotlight as we can give him so that he is able to find the perfect home. However, just because he is deaf, that doesn’t mean he isn’t trained. In fact according to his SPCA of Texas adoption page, Aries wants any potential parents to know, “I’m leash trained and have been told I have the best sit! I even know how to shake!”

It is important for anyone interested in bringing Aries home to know that this pup will need to be the only dog in the home. At the same time, he is looking for a family with older children (15 plus preferred here).

On their Instagram page, the SPCA of Texas shared a trio of pictures of Aries and this beauty is a doll. Whether he is sticking his tongue out, yawning, or trying to look serious, this is a pup who is looking for love and maybe even someone who appreciates his artwork! (Seriously, he painted a picture that he is clearly very proud of!)

If ever there was a time to head to the SPCA of Texas and find a new family member, this would be it. From National Pet Day to National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, April is clearly a month dedicated to our furry and not-so-furry friends.

And if you do happen to decide that Aries is the pup for you, from now until April 25, the SPCA of Texas is doing 50 percent off of adoptions for adult dogs and cats over six months at their McKinney and Dallas locations. Talk about winning!
