2020 West Central Oklahoma Kennel Club results

The 2020 West Central Oklahoma Kennel Club results are in.

The 2020 West Central Oklahoma Kennel Club cluster of dog shows have just wrapped up, and we’ll be looking at Sunday’s results right now here at Dog O’Day. 

The WCOKC draws members from Elk City, Weatherford and elsewhere throughout the western half of the Sooner State, and this competition took place in Elk City, not far from the Texas Panhandle. The results were previously reported by The Canine Chronicle magazine.

702 entries took part in Sunday’s event, and the judges were Dr Carol White-Moser (Hound and Non-Sporting), Richard Lewis (Herding and Sporting), Carolyn Herbel (Terrier and Toy), Vicki Allenbrand (Working) and Laurie King Telfair (Best in Show).

Herding Group

Taking first place in the Herding Group was a female Pembroke Welsh Corgi officially named CH Overo Summer Love, who beat out 115 other competitors in the class.

Also placing were a German Shepherd, a Border Collie and a Shetland Sheepdog, in that order.

Hound Group

Beating out 97 other entrants in the Hound Group, the blue ribbon winner in this group was an American Foxhound with the rather mouthful of an official name of CH Kiarryhillwood-DassinBohemianRhapsody at TulipGardens.

Taking the second-place red ribbon was a Whippet, the third-place white ribbon a Greyhound and the fourth-place yellow ribbon a Borzoi. All of these other placers were females.

Non-Sporting Group

A Tibetan Terrier named GCHS Barnstorm Blue Blood Royalty By Dzine won the Non-Sporting Group, defeating 73 other class competitors.

Also placing here were a Shar-Pei in second, a Dalmatian in third and a Standard Poodle in fourth.

Sporting Group

The top Sporting Group dog was a Welsh Springer Spaniel named GCH Rolyarts Navigator at Painted Sky Farms, who beat 116 other dogs in his division.

Golden Retriever, black Cocker Spaniel and Gordon Setter rounded out the placements.

Terrier Group

85 terriers were entered in the Terrier Group, which was captured by a female Border Terrier named Surefyres Strawberry Fields Forever.

Also placing were a Jack Russell Terrier, a Welsh Terrier and a Miniature Bull Terrier, in that order.

Toy Group

A Toy Poodle named GCHB Bay Flower JP Brings Me Serenity won the Toy Group out of 97 dogs total.

A Miniature Pinscher took the red, an Affenpinscher the white and a Pekingese the yellow.

Working Group

115 dogs were entered in the Working Group, with a female Boerboel named GCHB Fullers Simply Irresistible FDC CA DJ DNA CGCA CGCU TKP topping them all.

Also placing were a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, a Siberian Husky and a Giant Schnauzer, in that order.

Best in Show

The Reserve Best in Show (overall runner-up) for Sunday at the 2020 West Central Oklahoma Kennel Club was the Toy Poodle, while the Best in Show went to the Welsh Springer Spaniel.
