Scooby-Doo is a classic cartoon that has been part of the Hanna-Barbera family for more than 50 years. And with the arrival of Scoob! we could get a new cinematic universe for some of our animated favorites.
The Scoob! movie has officially arrived on Video on Demand. And with it comes the return of some of our favorite animated characters to ever grace our screens (both big and small).
But perhaps the best part of the Scoob! movie, beyond Scooby-Doo and his friends, is the arrival of some classic Hanna-Barbera characters that we did not expect to see this time around. Not only did we get Blue Falcon and Dick Dastardly, but we also got the epic Dynomutt.
Any time we can get a team up of two epic, animated dogs I am here for it. And this is no exception.

However, what makes this so much fun is the possibilities it leaves us with. As Indiewire reports, this movie sets the stage for a new Hanna-Barbera cinematic universe thanks to the arrival of these classic Hanna-Barbera characters that many people haven’t ever seen before.
This movie is introducing a new generation of viewers to characters that many of us grew up watching as part of our Saturday morning cartoon lineup. And as someone obsessed with Hanna-Barbera characters, this is an exciting idea.
By combining the new school of Scooby-Doo and his friends, with the old school caricature that is Dick Dastardly, we get a movie that combines the new with the old in a way that is refreshing and entertaining. And it leaves us hoping that we really will get a chance to see more of the Hanna-Barbera characters on the big screen (or the small) in a new way.
How amazing would it be to finally see a fresh take on characters such as Snagglepuss, Muttley, Yogi Bear, Baba Looey, the Jetsons, and more? Seriously, I never knew I needed a revived cinematic universe for the Hanna-Barbera characters more.
Scoob! was the first step in giving these classic characters a new life, and hopefully the nostalgia alone is enough to reel people in and convince Warner Bros. that we need more of these stories and movies.
What do you think of a potential Hanna-Barbera cinematic universe? Would you watch these movies? Which characters would you want to see get their own movie? Tell us what you think in the comments.
