Move over Met Gala, James Corden and the Late Late Show are giving us all the fashion we need with the help of the inaugural Pet Gala.

It’s one of fashion’s biggest nights – the Met Gala. And just like many other major events, it has been postponed in 2020. But, on the Late Late Show with James Corden, there was no way that he was going to let fashion’s annual showcase go by without giving us something magical.

On May 4, fans of Corden and the Gala were treated to the inaugural showing of the Pet Gala. And it was as epic as we could have hoped for.

With the help of Brad Goreski, a stylist and fashion consultant for E! News, James Corden hosted a night we will not soon forget – the 2020 Pet Gala. Not only did we get to see some stunning looks on regal pups, but there was even a showing from the non-dog contingent. In fact, not only did we get a fabulous bunny, but the Bearded Dragon tried to be a scene-stealer with the help of his Jurassic Limo.

These animals took on the theme of the postponed Met Gala, which was “About Time: Fashion and Duration.” That meant we saw some looks that made obvious references to time, and others that were all about being timeless. With red carpets at every turn, these pets knew how to steal a runway in style.

And with so many amazing looks, it was apparently impossible for Corden and Goreski to name a winning look for the night. Which meant that we were treated to a tie between a pup named Marlo Burke who wore a stunning red sequins number, and another pup named Brutus, whose look was even more ethereal than words can express.

Every animal who took part in the Pet Gala was a winner in our eyes. And now we can only hope that James Corden decides to bring this magic back again next year.

Of course, we can’t wait to see if the attendees of the Met Gala, when it eventually happens, will take some inspiration from our pets now that they have taken the spotlight for themselves.
