The Grant Gustin dog tattoo he just got inked honored his dog Jett.

The Flash has some new ink – not a lightning bolt, but the new Grant Gustin dog tattoo is an amazing work of art.

Gustin revealed the portrait-quality likeness of his dog Jett on his Instagram on Sunday, March 1.

Jett is a Toy Group breed, he looks to be possibly a Bichon Friese, Maltese or a Poodle. (They all look pretty much alike, so it’s hard to tell.)

“This one is special, I’ve been wanting a portrait of my best bud Jett for a long while now,” Gustin wrote in his caption. “We’ve been through a lot together and now he can be with me always.”

He isn’t the only superhero with dog tattoos, either – over on the Marvel side of things, Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy member Drax) has ink of his Pit Bulls. And while none of the cast of The Gifted have any canine ink that we know of, they love their cats and dogs wholeheartedly.

Besides playing Barry Allen/The Flash on The CW’s Arrowverse TV series of the same name, he’s also reprised the role in recurring roles on (in chronological order) Arrow, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. In special episodes, he’s also played a few alternate versions of characters thanks to multiverse shenanigans, including a timid and retiring Earth-2 version.

It’s likely that Barry will show up on the upcoming Arrowverse addition Superman and Lois in the future, though the pup of star Elizabeth Tulloch objected to that series being greenlit.

Gustin is also known for his recurring roles of Campbell Price on The CW’s 90210 reboot and Sebastian Smythe on Fox’s Glee.
