Actor Dave Bautista, best known as the Guardians of the Galaxy’s Drax, shows off his new tattoo depicting his three dogs.

The world may know Dave Bautista as former WWE wrestler Batista, or as the Guardians of the Galaxy’s Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But his pets just know him as “Dad.”

The actor showed off the new ink on his right thigh via an Instagram post this past Thursday, depicting the three dogs he and his wife share.

Bautista’s three dogs are an independent Catahoula named Sadie and Pit Bulls named Frankie and Janie, who are grouchy and eternally puppyish, respectively.

This news came to Dog O’Day’s attention through the Humane Society of the United States and  Comicbook.com.

Bautista has appeared in 21 films to date, with his best-known roles outside the MCU coming in either the 2015 James Bond film Spectre or 2017’s Blade Runner 2049.

He has shared photos of his dogs on Instagram before:

Bautista and his wife Sarah Jade appeared in a Humane Society video in 2017 as animal advocates on behalf of large breeds.

“People think, ‘Oh, no, Pit Bull – he’s gotta be vicious!’ Well, not at this moment,” Bautista states in the video while playing tug o’war with one of his dogs.

“People look at me and they see this big, rough, tough exterior,” Bautista says in the video. “But once they get to know me, they see that I’m a kind person. I think that’s very much true to our dogs as well.”

Bautista recently appeared in Avengers: Infinity War, and will reprise his role of Drax in the currently-untitled Avengers 4 next summer. He will likely appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, currently in development, but recent controversy around the firing of director James Gunn has made that not entirely certain.
