Who did the Jimmy Fallon puppies say will win Super Bowl LIV?

Jimmy Fallon puppies predicting the outcome of major sports events has become a regular thing, which we here at Dog O’Day highly approve of.

And since Super Bowl LIV is tomorrow, last night’s (Friday, January 31) episode of The Tonight Show had a dozen puppies pick the winner of the game, which will pit the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers at 6:40 p.m. on Fox.

There were a dozen puppies involved, all seemingly named after current or former members of the Saturday Night Live cast, who looked to be either Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers or Great Pyrenees (as puppies they all kind of look alike).

The actual main guest of the night was Ewan McGregor, who was there to promote his new movie Birds of Prey (he’s the villain) and chat about taking road trips using electric motorcycles.

To decide the winner, the process was simple – the puppies would be released from a gate towards two bowls of kibble, one marked “CHIEFS” and the other marked “49ERS.” The bowl with more dogs wins.

Around eight of the puppies went to the 49ers bowl, though not everyone was eating – there was some wrestling and ear-chewing there, too.

So, there you have it – according to the Jimmy Fallon puppies, the San Francisco 49ers will be the champions of the National Football League for the sixth time in seven appearances in the biggest game of them all.

We also kind of wish they would have picked the winners of Dog Bowl III (Team Oldies vs Team Goldies) and Puppy Bowl XVI (which pits Team Fluff vs Team Ruff), but we’ll take any puppy cuteness we can get.

Do you agree, or will Kansas City emerge victorious?
