Muttcrackers returned for the 2019 holiday season with another series of stray pups with dancers
When it comes to finding creative and unique ways to get shelter dogs in the spotlight to find new homes, the Muttcrackers take the lead. And they returned in 2019 for an entirely new series of dancers and dogs.
Remember in 2018 when we talked about the innovative way that the Dancers and Dogs Photography project was bringing shelter dogs into the spotlight? The Muttcrackers series was an adorable play on the Nutcracker with shelter dogs posing alongside professional dancers.
For the 2019 holiday season, the Muttcrackers have returned with a brand new series of photographs and even a new book and calendar. That’s right, if you love these pups as much as we do, then you have to snag one of these calendars to enjoy the dancing all year.
If you want to snag a copy of the limited edition book featuring 216 pages loaded with pups from the Stray Rescue of St. Louis, now is definitely the time as supplies are limited. And as an added bonus, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each of these books will in fact go back to the Stray Rescue (which makes this a win-win, as not only do you get a stunning collection of amazing photos, but you get to support the rescue as well).
Kelly Pratt, who helped create Dancers and Dogs with her husband Ian Kreidich, explained that, “It’s special to know that our work might bring more attention to dogs and cats that deserve a second chance at a happy and comfortable life. And if we can bring a smile to people’s faces at the same time, all the better.”
Honestly, it is hard not to smile when you see these ballet dancers performing next to a dog or cat in need. And in many cases, it is with the help of this unique program that these animals find their new homes.
Considering how gorgeous each of these photos is, it makes sense that they would be used to give these animals a spotlight. Whether we are talking about an older dog, a pup with special needs, or even puppies, all of these animals need a home and a family, and what better way to remind people that they need someone than with amazing photography.
We love the Dancers and Dogs project for so many reasons and we are excited by the fact that they are offering a book with many of their photos in it. Plus, the fact that there is a calendar available as well means that even if we can’t snag the book, there is still a chance to support the rescue and these pups while also getting these photos on our wall.
