Titans’ third episode, ‘Ghosts,’ is here, and while the story was excellent, we are still sadly waiting for Krypto the Superdog to arrive.

It’s official, the Krypto the Superdog watch is still in effect on Titans. Going into the third episode, we weren’t sure what to expect, but with a title like ‘Ghosts,’ it was unlikely to be a happy outing. And while we were holding out hope for even a sneak peek at Superboy and Krypto, sadly we are still waiting for them to appear.

Once again, the series did an excellent job of building up the action and drama, while also giving us bits and pieces of the puzzle for this season. And yet we are sadly still lacking in not only a superhero dog, but also any dogs. In fact, Titans seems to be missing all the animals.

In this episode, we were teased with the ghosts of the Titans past, and even got an idea of how Deathstroke plans to get his hands on the team by using Doctor Light. But what we didn’t see was any animals, including the shifted variety.

In ‘Ghosts,’ we not only see more sparring between the newest members of the team, but also the arrival of the original team to Titans Tower. And it doesn’t take long for old hurts and anger to surface, as well as new ones to make themselves known. Not only do we have the original team members dealing with the ghosts of their past (even though they only vaguely hint at things having gone bad between them), but even Rachel and Jason have a moment where things go sideways.

With so many bad memories, it makes sense that we might not get a lot of warm and cozy moments. But it definitely would have been nice to see a furry friend or two on the screen. We miss seeing Gar become a tiger, and of course we are eager for Krypto and Superboy‘s arrival.

Considering the next episode is titled, ‘Aqualad,’ we are not really holding out hope for Krypto’s arrival in episode four of Titans either. Instead, we may have to continue our watch and keep our eyes peeled for other animals that may cross the team’s path. Hopefully things pick up in terms of new arrivals, because we can’t wait to see how Dick and the others handle a dog superhero.
