Have you struggled to get a perfect selfie with your pup? Are you looking for tips and tricks to get the perfect picture of your and your pooch? We have you covered.

In this digital age of instant pictures, selfies, and social media, we are always looking for ways to tell our story and share the different aspects of our lives. And our pups are a big part of what makes our lives special, which is why we are always looking for the perfect selfie with our dog. After all, our pups are a major part of our life and happiness.

However, while we might want to take the perfect selfie with our pup, that doesn’t mean that is an easy proposition. Our pups don’t care about things like perfect pictures, staying still, or being social media stars (with some rare exceptions). And that means that sometimes we need a little help when it comes to taking the perfect selfie with our pups.

Since we completely understand wanting to capture adorable moments, we have pulled together a few tips and tricks to help you take the perfect selfie with your pup.

  • Angle your camera – As Mashable points out, the best way to take a great selfie is to make sure you have the right angle. And even with your pup in the picture, you want to look good too. Plus, by angling the camera, you know you are doing what needs to be done to actually capture your pup in the picture.
  • Get the zoomies out – One of the first tips that Chewy suggests is to make sure your dog has recently been exercised. This makes sense, as our pups tend to have a lot of energy, which makes it hard for them to sit still long enough for a selfie. Let your pup get their zoomy on, and then once they get that out of their system, you can aim for that perfect shot while they are catching their breath.
  • Bribes with treats – Treats are always a great way to get our dog’s attention. And using treats to take a selfie always seem to go hand in hand. After all, there are actual treat holders for our cell phones that allow us to get great selfies.
  • Don’t try for a perfect pose – Trying to pose your dog is not likely to work. Instead, you should let your dog do what it is they need to do in order to be comfortable. Basically, let them get in position and then join them for the selfie. This might take a bit of work to get the right shot, but at least this way you know your pup is more likely to stay still for a bit.
  • Be quick – You need to strike while the iron is hot, which means if you have the shot, take it. Your dog is not going to sit still for long and that’s not all, if your dog is actually looking at the camera, that won’t last forever either. Be quick and take a few snaps so that way you can choose which selfie is the best.
  • Take multiple shots – Like I just mentioned, it is important to take a few pictures. Just because we think the picture is perfect, taking a few extra is the key to getting exactly the selfie you want. Extra shots mean you are more likely to get at least one picture that is not blurry, eyes closed, or even mid kiss (our pups love us after all).

Taking a selfie with our pups can be really difficult, but with some of these tips, you should be able to capture a few perfect pictures that you can share with the world.
