Gus Kenworthy’s pup Birdie celebrates her first birthday on Instagram
Since Gus Kenworthy introduced his pup Birdie to the world, she has become an Instagram sensation. And on February 22, she celebrated her first birthday.
Over the last year, Gus Kenworthy has taken us all on a wild ride. From the Olympics to helping rescue dogs from a dog meat farm in South Korea, Kenworthy has almost become a household name. But perhaps, what we love about the Olympian the most is his dog Birdie.
After the loss of his rescue pup Beemo, he introduced the world to one of the pups he saw actually being born in South Korea, a pup that he and his partner, Matthew Wilkas, named Birdie. And since her introduction, Birdie has proven to be quite the sensation, particularly on Instagram, where she has her own account.
While we get to see plenty of pictures of Birdie on Gus Kenworthy’s Instagram account, it is on Birdie’s Instagram that she really steals the show with her sassiness and adorable pictures. And on February 22, Birdie once again made a splash, but this time it was because it was her first birthday (which we know for a fact since the Olympian actually saw Birdie being born).
On Instagram, we got to see plenty of pictures celebrating the celebrity pup’s birthday, as well as a video. In the video, we watched Birdie dig into a very special bone shaped birthday cake, although by the end the cake was on the floor.
In every picture, it is clear that Birdie is a well-loved pup, who is also very happy. And with a celebration in her honor, we can completely understand why she seems to be smiling in every picture.
On Gus Kenworthy’s birthday post to Birdie he tells everyone they need to head over to the pup’s Instagram to wish her a happy birthday. And on Wilkas’ Instagram, he shared a picture of Birdie with a birthday hat on with what looks like a huge smile on her face. And he reminds everyone that they actually know the exact day the pup was born because they were there.
Overall, it was a joyous celebration for Birdie and one that we are so glad we got to see even a bit of thanks to Instagram. We love seeing celebrities loving their animals, and it is clear that Kenworthy and Wilkas love their pup.
