Picking out a name for your new dog isn't easy. That's why some new pet parents will go with someone they love and are familiar with such as their favorite singer.
Looking back at 2024, it's been a huge year for women in music and FanSided even honored them by naming them the Fandom of the Year this year. The thing that feels even cooler is that these women also played a role in the names of dogs in 2024.
This data was shared by Rover who continue to amaze me with just how much research and data goes into their lists. There were so many "It Girls" in 2024 and that's why so many of these names look so familiar.
With that being said, there are so many great names to pick from and loads of amazing musicians who were honored by this rising trend in popular dog names.

The list started off strong with none other than Taylor Swift. According to Rover's data, "Taylor Swift" trended up by 461% which shouldn't come as a surprise. Taylor Swift absolutely dominated the music industry and the Eras Tour was something that most attendees will never forget. Ultimately, there was no way Taylor Swift wasn't going to end up on the list.
Some of the other trending dog names were Normani, Renee and Beyonce. With Normani putting out her debut album, this is especially cool. Meanwhile, Renee had a huge year both musically and and acting-wise. The same can be said about Beyonce who put out another album and returned to voice Nala in Mufasa: The Lion King. Ultimately, these women were complete and utter superstars this year.
Moving onto some new names for 2024, two big names trended this year. First is Eilish which is obviously a nod to Billie Eilish. Then there is Dua Lipa which is one I'm surprise hasn't been featured before. Either way, it's awesome to see these two making the list as they continued the girl power train in 2024.
Last but not least, Brat was a popular name for dogs in 2024. Given that most of us are still thinking about Brat Summer and Charli XCX's album, this one isn't shocking. Women truly ruled the music industry in 2024 and it's awesome to see everyone getting on board and making sure their dogs feel just as powerful.
