Rover gives us a fun look at dog costumes for 2024

Halloween is a time for tricks, treats and dressing up like someone you're not. Rover is making sure your pup doesn't miss out on the fun, either.

While Rover shared some safety tips and other things to do for a safe Halloween, we're here to talk about some costumes. Even though Halloween is creeping ever closer, there is still plenty of time to find a costume for you and your dog.

Whether you're planning on matching or building a costume based on what your dog is wearing, it's worth mentioning that Rover shared that the most popular food-related costume for dogs is a hot dog. It's a simple yet effective costume that gets people talking.

From there, you can either have different sides for the hot dog including fries, ketchup, and mustard or you could all be different types of hot dogs including pigs in a blanket, a corn dog, and a Korean corn dog. Either way, the sky is the limit when it comes to matching with your pup.

In addition to sharing the most popular food-related costume for dogs, Rover also shared some more obscure picks to dress your dog up as. I don't know about you, but some of these are too fun and I think would be great as part of a family costume. First is a Slim Jim which is for the "beefy boy in your life," and if that doesn't describe some dogs out there, I don't know what else will.

Next up is the "Very Demure Pup," who is wearing pearls and looking very mindful. I mean who can deny a good trend? While it might take a bit of explaining once people get it, it'll be worth the hassle of putting the pearls on your dog. This is a celebrity costume and that's Jack Black. I couldn't think of a more appropriate celebrity costume for dogs so I'm here for it.

The #4 costume is a potato. Honestly, this is a pretty underrated one and I feel like some dogs just naturally have a potato shape so it works. Last but not least, we've got another pop culture costume and it's Anxiety from Inside Out 2. This movie was everywhere this year so putting together a costume featuring Inside Out characters is bound to be popular. Having your dog be Anxiety is such a fun twist on the classic family costume.
