6 cartoon dogs to dress up as for Halloween 2024
Halloween is quickly approaching but there's still plenty of time to find your costume. If you're a dog lover, then this list is for you.
Whether you're dressing up for a party, at work, or want to go out with your little ones, you'll be wanting to look the part. That's why going as a dog can be an easy one, as most pups are recognizable and will definitely be the talk of your neighborhood.
No matter if you're going for something similar like a onesie from Walmart or are venturing over to Spirit Halloween, you're sure to find something. However, there's no shame in doing a DIY costume either.
All in all, it's all based on what you're looking to do and how much time and money you want to put into it. However, these ideas are all relatively easy so let's break it down.
These 6 cartoon dogs would be great Halloween picks for 2024.
Bluey, Bingo, Chili, or Bandit from Bluey
Let's begin with the most obvious and most popular pick this year. It has to be Bluey as she's been everywhere. No doubt this is going to be a popular costume this year for families but if you're feeling blue, you can dress up as Bluey. While there are costumes out there, this one would be relatively easy to make, as you'll need a dark blue sweatsuit with some light blue details and your face painted to look like hers. It's basically rinse and repeat for the other characters as they all have a similar design.
Scooby-Doo from the Scooby-Doo franchise
Another classic pick has to be Scooby-Doo. This is one that I feel is incredibly easy to do as there are plenty of fun Scooby-Doo onesies out there. You should be able to find one at your local Walmart as you'll not only look like Scooby but you'll be warm and cozy, too. With how chilly the Halloween season can be, this one is an absolute must.
Snoopy from the Peanuts franchise
Another easy costume to put together is Snoopy. With his white coat, black ears, and nose, you'll be able to get the pieces for this one easily. You could go with a white sweatsuit and then grab a pair of dog ears and paint your nose black. From there, it's as simple as tying a red ribbon around your neck or finding a red necklace. From there, you have your collar and then you're Snoopy. It's simple yet will have everyone complimenting you on just how fun and classic your costume is.
Odie from the Garfield franchise
Next up is another classic cartoon dog who is so hot right now, and that's Odie. This one might be the exception as far as easy goes. For this, you'll have to find a yellow sweatsuit and then add Odie's spots and tails. From there, you'll just need some dog ears and you'll be good to go. As popular as Garfield was this year, it's hard to track down an Odie costume for adults so while it might take some work, this one is one you'll have to make yourself.
Underdog
Everyone wants to be a superhero this year but if you're thinking out of the box, why not try to be Underdog? Underdog's costume is such a fun one as you'll have to dress up as a dog. Underdog feels like a mix of brown and yellow so that might be tricky to find. However, you can DIY this "superhero" look as he wears a red long-sleeve and red pants. To customize it, you can add a white "U" on the front and then finish it off with a blue cape. From there, you'll be ready to say "Underdog is here!"
Slinky Dog from Toy Story
Last but not least, I'm going with a costume that can used for a group. If you're planning a fun couple costume and don't know where to start, why not Slinky Dog? Whether you're wearing this one with your partner or just a friend, one of you will be the front and the other will be the back. This one is connected which is fun. You can grab one of these costumes online if you're looking for something unique without much DIY work on your part.
All in all, there are so many great cartoon dogs out there so I just wanted to show these characters some love and hopefully, inspire you for Halloween.
