The Garfield Movie: Does Garfield have a girlfriend?

There are a few characteristics about Garfield that are undeniably true. If you're headed to The Garfield Movie, you're probably familiar with his love of lasagna, hatred of Mondays and that he isn't afraid to go after what he wants.

One thing we haven't touched on yet ahead of The Garfield Movie is if Garfield has a girlfriend. While we mostly see him paired up with friends, it is a valid question and is something people might be thinking about before watching.

For those who don't know, Garfield does have a girlfriend and her name is Arlene. She's a pink cat who doesn't shy away from wearing some red lipstick. She's truly one of those characters who has confidence in herself and isn't afraid to rock a look that not everyone would go for.

Oddly enough, Garfield hasn't been single for long although it hasn’t always been noted. Arlene made her first appearance in 1980 and has been on and off with Garfield for decades. Talk about a rocky relationship.

Is Arlene appearing in 2024's The Garfield Movie?

With The Garfield Movie releasing over Memorial Day weekend, I'm sure you're wondering if Arlene will be making an appearance. When pulling up the cast list on IMDB, I'm sad to report that Arlene will not be appearing in 2024's The Garfield Movie.

Have no fear as Arlene has appeared in multiple other Garfield projects. She was voiced by Debra Messing in 2004's Garfield: The Movie. She also appeared in 2009's The Garfield Show where she was voiced by Audrey Wasilewski. While Arlene hasn't been in many Garfield projects, she's still a character that some remember fondly.

Even if you don't remember Arlene or haven't watched any of the projects featuring her, there's no better time than the present. Maybe we'll see a follow-up to The Garfield Movie and she'll pop up but until then, it's clear she's off with Garfield. All joking aside, I feel like Arlene is a character most fans forget about so I just wanted to show her some love.
