We may be a website dedicated to dogs, but we are also all about the cats and other furry critters of the world as well. In general, we love cute things and we are here to share that love with others. But when it comes to being a pet parent, there are so many things to consider, including the cleanliness of your home.

For some people, pet hair is a problem or at least it is something we are consistently trying to combat. And if you happen to be a cat owner, then you know that their hair is just as likely to be on your clothes, carpet, and couch, as it is to be on their bodies.

Obviously, anyone who owns a cat knows that they are all about self-grooming. And they really are quite good at keeping themselves clean. However, if you have a long-haired cat or even a senior they may be struggling to keep themselves groomed and the hair tamed. Honestly, even a younger kitty is going to leave behind hair.

So what can you do to cut down on the cat hair in your home?

Here's how we cut down on cat hair in the house

The first thing I have to point out is that we use the Bounce Pet Hair & Lint Guard Dryer Sheets. It not only helps to get the cat hair off our laundry, but it keeps it away better as well. And did you know that if you use a dryer sheet and rub it along baseboards and spots where dust and pet hair gather, it can help to keep it away? It definitely acts as a great way to cut down on the excess hair left behind.

Another recommendation for cutting down on the cat hair in the house is to actually brush your cat regularly. As the Chewy Blog points out, "it doesn’t hurt to brush cats regularly despite how fastidiously they groom themselves, as it does help cut down on fur around the home." The act of brushing helps to cut down on the loose hair and gets it before it ends up on the furniture and floors.

The fact that brushing also feels good is likely an added bonus for a lot of cats that will appreciate the added pampering from their human.

Another tool like the dryer sheets that you might want on hand is the FurZapper Dog & Cat Hair Removal Tool. This can be used in either the washer or dryer and it is used to attract the hair in your laundry so that you don't have to worry about clogging drains or basically building a fur coat of your own. On the products description page on Chewy, they explain that this item "gently loosens and disposes of pet hair and fur down your drain or into your lint trap." This is one of those items that may be a great alternative to the dryer sheets, while still doing what you need it to do to keep the fur off the laundry.

It can be hard to manage cat hair around the home, but whether it is extra grooming or with dryer (or washer) assistance, there are ways to at the very least maintain some semblance of order.
