One of the best parts of Animal Planet’s annual Puppy Bowl, beyond the puppy shenanigans, is that you can actually adopt some of the dogs. And if you’re watching the Big (Dog) Game, you’re probably eager to take one of these adorable puppies home with you. But are the Puppy Bowl dogs adoptable? And which dogs are up for adoption, if so?

To be clear, not all of the dogs you see on TV are up for adoption, as there are well over 100 dogs involved between Team Ruff and Team Fluff. And in fact, by the time the show airs (it’s filmed months earlier), many of the dogs have already found new homes.

That said, there are some dogs still available to be matched with a new family, so let’s get to the info you want to know.

Are the Puppy Bowl dogs adoptable?

Yes, they are! Like we noted above, by the time the show airs there’s a good chance a large chunk of both teams have already been snapped up. And as you might imagine, having their smoochable mugs flashed on TV means that these adoptable doggies go pretty quickly.

As of this writing, you can take a look at 14 different dogs that may (or may not) still be available on Animal Planet’s site.

How to adopt Puppy Bowl dogs 2024:

The short version is go to puppybowl.com/adopt, and then browse through the gallery there to see if there’s a dog you want to take home. The longer version? Scroll down through each description, click the link that says “adopt !” and then you’ll have to go through the regular bells and whistles to adopt the dog. If they’re still available, of course.

Can you also adopt the cats in the Kitty Halftime Show?

Sure can! We’ll note some of the agencies and kittens below, but the cats in the Kitty Halftime Show at the Puppy Bowl are just as adoptable as their dog counterparts.

What adoption agencies partner with Animal Planet for Puppy Bowl?

To be clear, you are not adopting dogs directly from Animal Planet or the Puppy Bowl. Instead, there are trusted agencies who partner for the event where you can find Puppy Bowl competitors – and many more.

One of the most prominent agencies is Florida Little Dog Rescue, which sent seven dogs and two Hall of Fame inductees Animal Planet’s way this year.

The others that currently have dogs (and cats!) available include: Hearts Alive Village, Animal Care Society, Fetch Wisconsin, Saving Grace, ARF Beacon, Kitty Cat Haven and Rescue, Pet Haven, Great Plains SPCA, Felines and Friends NM, Nuzzles and Co., City Dogs and City Kitties, Homeward Pet, Matchdog, and Paw Works.
