For months, we've all been waiting for the Bluey special, "The Sign" to be released. Before it streams on April 14th, the series announced "Ghostbasket" which came out on April 7th.
Unlike the previous iteriations of the series, this episode was dropping everywhere rather than just in Australia first. Honestly, this made things all the more exciting, and as a Bluey fan, I was ready.
Sadly as a Bluey fan with a job, I didn't have a chance to watch until Sunday evening. Either way, the title of the episode didn't give me much to go off so I had no idea what I was in store for.
Thankfully, I didn't see any spoilers or anything related to the plot either which was awesome but let's get into my thoughts on the episode.
What grade are we giving the Bluey episode, "Ghostbasket?"
Without getting too in-depth with the plot, the episode follows Chili going to look at her "new house" aka their house, and Hugo aka Bandit trying to sell it to her. Of course, Janet and Rita (The Grannies) are occupying it and doing anything to dissuade the sale. Then comes Ghostbasket and from there, it's bonkers.
All in all, though the episode is a lot of fun and one that had me chuckling. It was so nice to see Chili and Bandit play completely different people than they are. Plus Bluey and Bingo as Janet and Rita are just delightful. I don't know what it is about those two as grannies but it's awesome.
Of course, the final few moments of the episode were what gave me pause. If you've watched the episode, you'll know what I'm talking about. Even so, that's a post for another day but ultimately, this was another good episode of Bluey.
While "Ghostbasket" could have been a filler episode, the last few moments gave us a lot to ponder and plenty to think about ahead of "The Sign." Given that "The Sign" is almost 30 minutes long, there are a lot of questions to be answered. With that being said, let's get into my grade.
Until then, there are still plenty of Bluey episodes to stream on Disney+.
