But sometimes, a version slips through the cracks. And that is what happened with the Merriam-Webster and Garfield dictionary, at least for a little while.
You see, the Merriam-Webster and Garfield dictionary was actually released in 1999. I was in high school at the time and while you would think that would mean I would know about this version, that didn’t happen. Instead, I learned about this dictionary in 2023 and have owned a copy since finding out it existed.
With the popularity of The Garfield Movie (2024) and the renewed appreciation for our favorite lasagna loving cat, it makes sense that we would want to spotlight this version of the Merriam-Webster dictionary.
What makes this dictionary so special is the fact that it actually features comic strips throughout the pages of the book. And of course, Garfield also highlights some of the definitions he finds especially useful or important.
