Everyone is talking about "The Sign" and how it is the longest Bluey episode yet. In a recent interview, Joe Brumm, the creator of Bluey gave a glimpse of what could be after that.

On the whole, Bluey is one of those series that can tell a great story in less than 10 minutes. I don't know about you, but some shows can't even do that with more time. Thankfully, this 28-minute feature has the chance to do a lot more than that.

In a recent article shared by Deadline, Brumm was quoted as saying: "That’s why I’m very interested to see how The Sign goes down with the audience. Obviously it’s four times as long as a normal episode. Will the audience accept a stint with a longer story?” Just the way that Brumm phrased it makes it seem like the future is ripe for potential.

Of course, the big idea that a lot of us have thought of is the possibility of a Bluey movie. The series has grown vastly popular throughout the entire world and no doubt fans of all ages would love to go sit at the theater to enjoy a Bluey movie.

Will "The Sign" pave the way for a future Bluey movie?

As evidenced by what Brumm said, it's all going to be based on audience reaction. Since the show is geared towards children, it will be curious to see if the longer episodes hold their attention. As an adult though, I know that I'll be glued to my TV on April 14th.

Depending on how things play out after Season 3 of Bluey, a movie might be a better format and frankly, a good way to wrap up the series. While the show can tell such a compelling story in such a short run-time, I'm curious about what the cast and crew could do with a movie.

In addition, a movie allows the show to take a few more risks than would normally be allowed. It also feels like a natural progression for the series. While a movie might not serve as the end of Bluey, it could be a nice pit-stop for fans and something to help bring new people into the series. A few animated shows have done that in the past so it could be a great idea for Bluey.

All in all, I'm anxious to see if fans enjoy "The Sign" and if it does end up being the pathway for an eventual Bluey movie. Until then, there are plenty of great Bluey episodes to stream on Disney+.
