Celebrate Valentine's Day with your pup with a cookbook for both humans and pets
Valentine's Day doesn't have to be for only those who are in romantic relationships. It can be about the love you share with your dog as well. And what better way to celebrate than with a delicious meal that you both can enjoy!
Luckily, Trusted Housesitters and Chasity Hobs at @through.the.leaves are sharing seven recipes you can make this Valentine's Day that are safe for your pet and delicious for you as well. The recipes include Slobber-worthy Salmon Cakes, Peanut Butter & Banana Pupcakes, Barking Beef, Broccoli, and Rice Stir Fry, Sweet Pawtato Fries, Chimken Burgers, Fur Family Pumpkin Bread, and Apple Oatmeal Pawfait. Yum!
As dessert and potatoes are the best part of any meal, let's look at the recipes for the Sweet Pawtato Fries and the Peanut Butter & Banana Cupcakes.
For the Sweet Pawtato Fries, you only need sweet potatoes, coconut oil, and cinnamon. Peel the potatoes and mix them with the oil and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Put them in a 425-degree oven for 15 minutes, flip them, and then bake them for another 10-15 minutes and enjoy!
Trusted Housesitters offers pet-friendly recipes that are perfect for you and your pup
Time for dessert! For these pupcakes, you need flour, baking powder, smooth peanut butter, banana, egg, and water. Mix everything together and bake them in a 350-degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Let them cool and make the frosting.
Simply mix together reduced-fat cream cheese, peanut butter, and banana, apply to the top of each cupcake, and allow your pupper to enjoy! As there is no sugar in these (except the natural sugar from the banana), these won't be as sweet as normal cupcakes, but they should still taste delicious.
