When one thinks of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse often comes to mind as well. The thing that might shock you is that Minnie Mouse hasn't ever appeared in balloon form at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
While she's appeared on floats in the past, she has yet to make her appearance as a balloon until 2024. Minnie Mouse is joining the ranks of some of the world's most beloved characters and strutting her stuff down the parade route this Thanksgiving.
Upon finding this out, I was immediately curious if some of Mickey's other famous friends had made their debut before Minnie. Looking at his best pal Pluto, it might surprise you, but Pluto did make his Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut already. Unfortunately, Pluto made his debut almost 100 years ago and it doesn't seem like he's going to be returning anytime soon.
If you're going to look up Pluto's balloon from 1934, do so with caution because that thing is downright horrifying. I don't know about you, but I could wait the 100 years for them to perfect this and give us a new Pluto balloon.
Goofy has already made his Macy's Thanksgiving Day debut as well.
If you're wondering about one of Mickey's other puppy pals, you'll be shocked to know that Goofy has also made his Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade debut before Minnie Mouse. I don't know if you're like me, but I am honestly shocked to hear this. Minnie is such an iconic character and I feel like she deserves better.
Heading back to Goofy, he made his debut in 1992 and he was dressed up like Santa Claus. This also marks his one and only balloon appearance. Honestly, most of the Sensational Six have appeared in the parade in one way or another. However, I'm still just shocked that it took this long for Minnie Mouse to be featured in balloon form.
Either way, it's nice to know that Disney's other famous face is returning aka Bluey. Since Spider-Man is also part of Disney's catalog, he'll be making his first appearance in balloon form as well. It's a good year for first balloons at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
