If there's one store you can get a bit of everything at, it's Costco. Whether you're shopping for dog food, your food, shampoo, or gum, you're bound to find exactly what you're looking for at Costco. You also might find everything you're not looking for.

When going on a long shopping trip, like at Costco, you might be wondering if you can bring your pup with you. It's a legitimate question and one that I'm sure most of us have thought of at one point or another.

The good news is that we have the answer although you might not like it. As per Costco's website: "Are service animals allowed in Costco Warehouses?
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Costco has adopted a service animal policy. Be assured that Costco members accompanied by service animals have immediate access to our warehouses." As you can see, the answer is pretty simple.

No animals are allowed in Costco unless they're service animals. This makes a lot of sense as not only does Costco serve food, but that place would be a sensory nightmare for a dog. There would be so many people around, food cooking and plenty of things to get them distracted while you're trying to do your shopping.

Costco doesn't allow any dogs unless it's a service animal.

Ultimately, this answer probably doesn't come as a surprise to many. As previously mentioned, there are a lot of moving parts at Costco and adding a dog into the mix doesn't seem smart. That's not to say that you can't get some good deals if you're shopping for your dog at Costco. That's something else entirely.

On a more positive note, there are plenty of great pet items to grab at Costco, including pet food, toys, treats and dog beds. All of those are sure to make your pup forget about you being gone for long, and sometimes, that's all we can really ask for. Ultimately, we all want our pets to be safe, and it's good to know Costco is keeping that at the forefront as well.

At least you now have the answer on whether you can bring your pup into Costco with you. If anything, it might be the incentive you need to be able to get out of Costco within an hour. That might end up saving you some money which we're all looking to do these days!
