Truffles the Kitty helps change the stigma around glasses

Wearing glasses isn’t always an easy adjustment, especially for kids. Truffles the Kitty is changing the tides, though.

Employed by A Child’s Eyes, Truffles is making changes for kids in Pennsylvania and beyond. Let’s get into some background about Truffles before we get into what she’s been doing to make kids more comfortable with glasses.

As shared via her human mom: “Truffles the Kitty is an ambassador for Vision. She was born in July of 2017 as a stray cat. Truffles found her forever home in the most interesting of places, an optical shop, so she’s an office cat! The Crull family adopted Truffles as a feisty little furball in October of 2017.” After she got into her new home and office, she became an employee.

Ultimately, this was about helping kids feel more comfortable about an eye exam, getting glasses, and being responsible with them. Honestly, this almost brings a tear to my eye as I feel like I would have benefited a lot from Truffles as a kid.

The organization is three-fold as it’s being used for knowledge, encouragement, and lastly, assistance. It’s incredibly cool to see what good is being done and like I said, there are plenty of kids and adults who would benefit from Truffles.

While this idea is awesome on its own, it’s all about helping those who need it. You can donate to help parents of kids who need help paying for their first pair of glasses. There are also Treats from Truffles which helps kids who need encouragement with their glasses or parents who need help getting glasses. Whether you wear glasses or have a little one who does, I think anyone will get a smile out of seeing Truffles. I mean the kitty has more glasses than I do and that’s pretty amazing.
