Everyone wants to feel loved and important especially those pets still waiting to be adopted into their forever homes. Thankfully, the 15th Annual Mars Pet Adoption Weekend is coming up.
Beginning on September 29th and going until October 1st, this is a way for petcare brands to get together and help pets get adopted. Mars, its Petcare companies, and the Pedigree Foundation are going to cover $100,000 in cat and dog adoption fees at certain locations.
Even if you aren’t in any of these locations, there is no denying how much a pet can change your perspective. Of course, always be sure you’re ready for the responsibility, time, and effort it takes to adopt a pet. That’s the most important thing.
Whether you’re adopting or not, you can still take a look and see if any of these cats or dogs will be a good fit for you or someone you love.
The 15th Annual Mars Pet Adoption Weekend is coming up!
Since it’s the 15th year, it makes sense that Mars and its partners are going to be covering adoption fees in 17 shelters in 15 cities. While there are some bigger cities in there, you’ll have to let us know if your hometown or local shelter appears and if you’re planning to adopt.
Before getting into the shelters, I wanted to talk a bit about the brand’s newest campaign with Katie Couric. Couric teamed up with Mars to bring us Unleashed which is an online series where she talks to her famous friends, their pets, and how they ended up together. The one during Mars Pet Adoption Weekend is going to feature Katie following Chief who is a three-legged dog that was adopted.
The shelters featured as part of the Mars Pet Adoption Weekend are as follows:
- Bentonville, AR (Best Friends Pet Resource Center in NW Arkansas)
- Chicago, IL (Paws Chicago)
- Denver, CO (MaxFund Animal Adoption Center)
- Honolulu, HI (Hawaiian Humane)
- Kansas City, MO (KC Pet Project)
- Las Vegas, NV (The Animal Foundation)
- Los Angeles, CA (Los Angeles Animal Services)
- McLean, VA (Wolf Trap Animal Rescue)
- Nashville, TN (Metro Animal Care and Control, Nashville Humane Association, Williamson County Animal Center)
- Newark, NJ (St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center)
- Phoenix, AZ (Arizona Humane Society)
- St. Louis, MO (City of St. Charles Animal Shelter)
- Tampa, FL (Humane Society of Tampa Bay)
- Vancouver, WA (Humane Society for Southwest Washington)
- Washington, DC (Humane Rescue Alliance)
If you’re located near one of these and decide to adopt, that’s all the better. In addition, all new pet parents will get a welcome kit featuring treats, coupons, and more for you and your new family member. Even if the brand isn’t coming anywhere near you, you can always go to your local shelter and find a new pet to add to your family.
