In order to determine which states are most likely to have pet parents spoiling their pets, “The experts collected Google search volume data for 840 pet-related phrases such as ‘chew toy for dog,’ ‘cat scratch post,’ and ‘best toys for pet’ in each US state. The search volume for each phrase was collated and calculated per 100,000 of the population of each state.”
