Trailer Information

As far as an early trailer for the film goes, it’s still in it’s early stages of production, given that it was literally just announced roughly a week ago that it would be coming out in the first place. While we will have wait quite some time for a trailer, we can only begin to imagine just what it will be like and how amazingly excited it will get us to see the film.

Returning Characters

Of course we are going to see out most favorite cartoon animal duo, Judy Hopps, played by Ginnifer Goodwin, and Nick Wilde, played by Jason Bateman.

In the first film, Hopps is the center of the plot, hoping to become an officer one day in the land of Zootopia. She uses the motivation from her local doubters and bullies in order to increase her motivation and meet and exceed all of her goals.

In the first film, Wilde lives as a part-time con artist. He always speaks his mind and gives us that super sly fox sort of aura about him after learning how to cope from a traumatic childhood experience. In the end, he teams up with Hopps to help her solve a case.

Plot Information

As far as a plot goes, there’s really no information out there yet as most, if not all of the film, is still being written, produced, etc. However, do expect to see the Dynamic Duo back and at it again.

Zootopia’s Origin

Development for the first film initially began when a man by the name of Byron Howard pitched roughly 6 story concepts to Disney Animation’s Chief Creative Officer and Executive Producer, John Lasseter. Three of his stories included tons of different animal-related characters.

Initially the motivation to create Zootopia stemmed from a “desire to differentiate it from other anthropomorphic animal films, where the animals inhibit either the natural or human world”.

Here was his initial thoughts of what he wanted said film to be all about:

"“Lasseter suggested fusing a 1960s theme with animal characters, and later, screenwriter Jared Bush was recruited to the project because of his excitement to work on a spy film, influenced by his father and grandfather’s previous employment at the Central Intelligence Agency.”"

And here’s more:

"“Howard eventually abandoned the 1960s era, espionage, and international aspects, and shifted the film’s focus to a contemporary police procedural, with Nick Wilde as the lead and Judy Hopps as his sidekick, to emphasize the all-animal city. However, the filmmakers recognized the story’s potential for greater engagement by flipping the roles and placing the emphasis on Hopps rather than Wilde.”"

All in all, this second installment of Zootopia is certain to NOT disappoint. We will get plenty of animal and human-related humor, some pretty funny jokes from Flash himself, and just an overall super fun and feel-good family-friendly movie.
