Lady Gaga is apparently being sued by one of the people who was arrested in connection with the theft of her dogs in 2021. According to the new lawsuit, the reason that she is being sued is for not paying the reward that she originally offered for the return of her dogs.

Honestly, the first thought we had when we saw this headline was the audacity of some people. And even with digging further into the story, we can’t help but think that some people have no idea the difference between right and wrong.

So what exactly is happening? According to TMZ,

"the woman charged in connection with the theft of Lady Gaga’s French Bulldogs, says the singer never delivered on her promised $500,000 reward … and now she wants a court to force the singer to cough it up.Jennifer McBride says Gaga made it very clear, she’d pay the $500k “no questions asked” when she announced the reward back in February 2021 after her dogs Koji and Gustav were stolen from her dog walker at gunpoint."

Apparently, the issue is that when the reward was first offered by the singer, she said there would be no questions asked (and it sounds like the people involved in the theft really thought that meant they could shoot someone and still get paid to return the dogs). An attorney for McBride is saying that Lady Gaga issued the reward with an intent to defraud people. Basically, they are saying that the reward was only offered in order to get other people to locate and return the missing French Bulldogs.

Two days after the singer’s dogs were taken at gunpoint, Jennifer McBride brought them back to a police station. She expected to be paid for having done that. However, McBride was charged as an accessory after the fact. She was one of five people who were actually arrested in association with this crime. Another charge levied against her was the “receiving of stolen property.”

In the filing, not only is McBride looking to get the original $500,000 reward, but she wants the courts to triple it to $1.5 million. Her attorney is apparently arguing that Lady Gaga “ committed a breach of contract, fraud by false promises and fraud by misrepresentation.“ It seems that she feels that posting the reward was misleading as she never received any compensation for the return of the dogs.

We don’t really know what will happen in this case, but we do know that McBride is still on probation in relation to the original theft. We can’t help but wonder if the courts will side with Lady Gaga or Jennifer McBride in this situation.

What do you think will happen with this lawsuit? Do you think Lady Gaga will have to pay the reward to one of the people who was charged in connection to the theft?
