Puppy Bowl XVIII may be over but it will not be forgotten. It was immensely entertaining, full of the cutest pups ever, and stacked with amazing plays. There were tackles, fumbles, butt sniffing, and loads of touchdowns. There is no way the Super Bowl could ever be this good.

The game aired on both Animal Planet and Discovery PlusT and once again featured the Fluffs versus the Ruffs. Snoop Dogg is the coach of the Fluffs while Martha Stewart is the coach for the Ruffs.

The game started with the first six dogs coming out onto the dog toy-covered field and it wasn’t long before the Fluffs made their first touchdown. But the Ruffs met that touchdown with one of their own.

This back and forth with the score continued to happen throughout the game. One minute the Fluffs would have the most point and the next the Ruffs would score and take the lead. It was very dramatic but showed just how determined these pups were to win.

The Fluffs were the winner of this year’s Puppy Bowl

During the final seconds of the fourth quarter, the Ruffs were in the lead, but Fluffs player, Chorizo, grabbed a toy and ran to the endzone giving them the win. The final score was 73-69.

Once the game was over, Underdog of the Year and Most Valuable Pup were awarded. Underdog of the Year went to Mr. Tinkles and MVP went to Kirby. Both were on the Fluffs team.

In my opinion, Ted D. Bear was absolutely robbed for the MVP award. He scored three touchdowns all on his own. Sure, Kirby did some great work on the field and scored some touchdowns, but Ted D. Bear was the reason the score was neck and neck throughout the game. The viewers (who were able to vote for MVP on Twitter) really got that one wrong.

The game also showed off the doggy cheerleaders rooting for their team behind the scenes and the VIP box where all the kittens were hanging out. Although, the kittens looked like they were more interested in their own toys and the fish in the aquarium.

Overall, Puppy Bowl XVIII was a very memorable game. Hopefully, it leads to a lot of doggos getting adopted. Now we have to start counting down the days until the next Puppy Bowl!
