[UPDATE FROM EDTIORS – The press release we got our information from had the date wrong – the 2022 Puppy Bowl will air on its traditional day of Super Bowl Sunday, which is Sunday, February 13. We apawlogize for the error.]

The 2022 Puppy Bowl is coming to Animal Planet and Discovery Plus just ahead of the Super Bowl.

Puppy Bowl 18 will air on Sunday, February 7 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT, ending a longtime trend of airing on Super Bowl Sunday itself. This may be due to the crammed sports schedule this February, which sees the 2022 Winter Olympics and Super Bowl running simultaneously (and even covered by the same network, NBC), followed immediately afterward by the Daytona 500 the next week.

So February 7, which only sees the Pro Bowl in regular sports programming, aside from Winter Olympics coverage, may result in better ratings.

But Team Ruff and Team Fluff will actually match the Super Bowl 56 colors of blue and orange, as that matchup will feature the Cincinnati Bengals against the Los Angeles Rams.

Rufferee Dan Schachner will be celebrating his 10th year officiating the contest, as both teams clamor for pawsession of the Chewy Lombarky Trophy.

The 2022 Puppy Bowl is coming soon to our screens.

22 shelters from nine states are participating in Puppy Bowl 18, and hopefully the 100 percent adoption rate will continue following this telecast.

ESPN personalities Steve Levy and Sage Steele will call the 2022 Puppy Bowl, while the Yellow Tail Puppy Pre-Game Show will feature familiar faces James Hound, Sheena Inu, Brittany Spaniel and Herman Shepherd will have all the impawtant information before kickoff.

Once again, the puppies will do their best to earn the Bissell Most Valuable Puppy Award and the Subaru Underdog Award, and the halftime show will star the coolest cats in the building, as per usual.

TV correspondent and animal advocate Jill Rappaport is back for the Subaru Pup Close and Personal segments, which will include actresses Kirsten Bell and Valerie Bertinelli, the Kids Baking Championship, and several special need doggos.

Since a football game is nothing without cheerleaders, puppy cheerleaders will be on the sidelines howling for their teams. This will be the first time that puppies have been holding the pom poms, but cheerleading squads have been part of the game since about when teams were formed, which began with Puppy Bowl 11.

They are also including the Pupularity Playoffs bracket on social media, and for the first time ever, NFTs of the players.
